Last week at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, Panasonic introduced the HZ2000, the successor to 2019’s highly successful GZ2000, Panasonic’s flagship OLED TV. The HZ2000 supports all formats of HDR, along with a new filmmaker mode, showing Panasonic’s commitment to bring Hollywood picture quality to consumers’ living rooms.
With all Calman Ready displays, consumers are ensured a seamless integration experience with Calman software, and the ability to utilize AutoCal™, Calman’s automated calibration feature.
The 2020 Panasonic HZ2000 now supports Dolby Vision color calibration via Calman software. This provides consumers the ability to adjust and characterize their TV for optimum Dolby Vision performance. Calman software will have the ability to calibrate SDR, HDR10, Dolby Vision, and HLG. Additionally, Calman’s AutoCal allows consumers to conduct color calibrations more efficiently than a purely manual approach. In addition to being much faster to complete a calibration, AutoCal delivers more consistent and reliable calibration results, ensuring a viewing experience that is just right.
Introduced in 2019, Panasonic’s built-in video test pattern generator, Calman PatternGen, is also included in the new HZ2000. Calman PatternGen directly communicates with Calman software to provide the on-screen patterns necessary for color calibration. With Calman PatternGen, consumers no longer need to purchase an external pattern generator to calibrate their TV. All that is required to conduct a color calibration is Calman software and a colorimeter such as the Portrait Displays C6 HDR2000.
Calman software will be updated to support the Panasonic HZ2000 when released later in 2020.
